Greetings from Pebbles
Yorkshire Terrier, 11 years old
My favourite thing about Pebbles is...
Pebbles lives with our 4 other dogs; all working Labradors, and I believe she thinks she’s a Labrador. We have never treated her differently from the other dogs and she is quite happy to get in the ruff and tumble with them. The only thing she isn’t happy about is swimming so she usually runs along the river bank while they swim. She is very confident around other dogs and shows no fear.
The biggest challenge with Pebbles is...
She doesn’t like fireworks and will hide away if she hears them. I need to take care if we are walking anywhere there are rabbits or squirrels as she will chase them but she is fine with most other animals.
The most surprising thing about owning a Yorkshire Terrier is...
They are tough little dogs and are quite happy to go for long walks, easily keeping up with much bigger breeds.
What I wish I’d known about Yorkshire Terriers is...
How much space they take up on the bed!
Did you know?
The Yorkshire Terrier was bred to hunt and kill rats in the coal mines – and so be small enough to fit in a miner’s pocket!
