Bakers
Why don’t you list individual ingredients?
We label our recipes in accordance with the category labelling legislation set out by the Labelling Regulations.
The categories names are laid down by law. The law defines the categories under which we are required to label our ingredients (e.g. meat & animal derivatives, derivatives of vegetable origin). We choose to use category labelling vs. individual ingredient labelling for BAKERS as it allows us flexibility if there are fluctuations in ingredient availability due to seasonal change (e.g. we can use more turkey at Christmas when there is more availability) and also means that we use more nutritional parts of the animal which otherwise would be wasted (for example).
