Meet Paddington
Basset Hound, 2 years old
He came from Basset Hound Rescue UK .
My favourite thing about Paddington is...
He is so loving, never happier than sitting on your lap which is amazing even though he is heavy lump, will do anything for a treat usually and is my daughters best friend, he worships the ground she walks on and is most happy when she is around.
The biggest challenge with Paddington is...
He is a Basset so is extremely stubborn. He will do anything for a treat but he has to be in the mood or he just won't listen. If he gets a scent on a walk he won't rest till he has found it and won't follow you till he's ready. All these things are just part of what makes him the most amazing dog, the most stubborn, loving, frustrating and awesome dog I could wish for.
The most surprising thing about owning a Basset Hound is...
He is faster than he looks and like zoomies as much as any dog, we had read up on the breed before getting one so not much else was a massive surprise, they truly are as stubborn as they are billed to be.
What I wish I’d known about Basset Hounds is...
Nothing really as we had done our homework, he is so loving and loyal and is a complete pleasure to own.
Did you know?
Basset Hounds are the second-best sniffers in the canine world, second only to the Bloodhound.
