Say Hi to Canna
Border Collie, 6 Months old
My favourite thing about Canna is...
Canna is a very loving puppy, and very friendly towards people. She loves the great outdoors and goes paddling in the seas at our caravan. When she's not doing this, she loves playing off lead in our nearby country park and has invented a new game called "Come and try to get the tennis ball from me and I will move away just enough that you can't reach it..but I'll exchange it for a treat!"
The biggest challenge with Canna is...
Canna's biggest challenge in her short life was to survive Parvovirus when she was 9 weeks old.Her breeder hadn't vaccinated the litter.I bought her on the Sunday and by the Tuesday she was fighting for her life at the vets.Luckily, she pulled through but now has a few issues with her digestion. She is now just like a normal lively puppy but has to be careful what she eats.
The most surprising thing about owning a Border Collie is...
The most surprising aspect of having border collies is that they can be couch potatoes,They don't have to be doing "stuff" all day. After being out for their exercise, they are happy to have a snooze by your feet! But as soon as you get up from your chair,up they get as if to say,"Oh it's time to get up and do things again !"
What I wish I’d known about Border Collies is...
One collie is never enough !! I have 3 at the moment. You have to be prepared to include them in a lot of your daily activity.Remember that they were bred to be a shepherds dog and accompanied their master day and night. So they don't like being left alone for lng.
Did you know?
American psychologist Dr. Stanley Coren classified the Border Collie as the most intelligent breed of dog, ranking first out of 133 breeds.
