Greetings from Leia
Border Collie, 6 years old
My favourite thing about Leia is...
how affectionate she is. How keen she is to please. She adores training, in particular, agility, heelwork to music, but mostly tricks. She loves swimming chasing balls, Parkour she's extremely active and so am I. Engaging her brain is more important than loads of walks.
The biggest challenge with Leia is...
Fireworks, she's terrified. I now book the day before Halloween till after November off. We stay in a remote place where you can't hear them.
The most surprising thing about owning a Border Collie is...
How affectionate they are, how clever they are. A loyal dog who is very protective. How quick they learn.
What I wish I’d known about Border Collies is...
As young pups and having bred a litter they learn so quickly. They will learn bad things just as quick. If they chew up your slippers it may seem cute, but later when you don't want them to chew and they do it's your fault as YOU give them the go ahead. Start training as soon as you get your pup. My pups are all house trained at 8 weeks
