Say Hi to PoppyNala
Border Terrier, 9 years old
My favourite thing about PoppyNala is...
She is very affectionate, gentle and patient. She is a whirl wind and sleeps in the most hilarious positions. She is great companion dog and loves a cuddle.
The biggest challenge with PoppyNala is...
If left alone she can chew things and is always scavenging for our food even though she’s been trained to lie down when we’re eating.
The most surprising thing about owning a Border Terrier is...
I’ve had two Borders and both were house trained within a couple of weeks. In my experience they are easy to train and pick things up really quickly. They adapt themselves to how you live. They love a walk but can easily spend the day sleeping if you’re not feeling up to walking.
What I wish I’d known about Border Terriers is...
I didn’t realise how much they would shed their hair! You have to constantly vacuum the carpets, brush them and have them hand-stripped regularly.
Did you know?
This breed is known for being escape artists, so you’ll need to make sure you have a secure garden to prevent them from getting out.
