Meet Wilfred
Border Terrier & Bedlington Terrier, 14 years old
My favourite thing about Wilfred is...
Wilfred doesn't like change, if you move things around he will be spooked and bark. He's very quirky and unique which is why I love him so much, there's never a dull moment. He makes me laugh with his goofy ways, and may be 15 next month but still looks like a puppy! He has Cushings disease, but medication is helping with that. He's always happy to see me and is such a mummy's boy.
The biggest challenge with Wilfred is...
The dustbin lorry and cats, he hates them both! Also the Cushing's disease makes him think he is always hungry, but only for treats, he constantly begs for food.
The most surprising thing about owning a Border Terrier & Bedlington Terrier is...
As a puppy he was a great escape artist. When you thought the garden was dog proof he would find the tiniest hole and escape. He was hard to train on a lead as he always had to jump all over other dogs, but only in a friendly way. Also he was a prolific howler until his hearing started to fade as it was every time he heard music!
What I wish I’d known about Border Terriers & Bedlington Terriers is...
How much energy they have, very boisterous as a youngster, and very very vocal.
