Greetings from Katerina (Kitty)
Borzoi, 2 years old
My favourite thing about Katerina (Kitty) is...
She is very loving and extremely sociable. She loves every human and every dog she meets. She is the happiest dog I know who loves life.
The biggest challenge with Katerina (Kitty) is...
Kitty can be quite vocal especially if she thinks she is being ignored. This includes high pitched barking early in the morning if she thinks it is time to get up.
The most surprising thing about owning a Borzoi is...
I am not surprised at all about borzois. Having had sighthounds for many years, I knew what to expect - hyper speed zoomies on the park and couch potato at home.
What I wish I’d known about Borzois is...
I wish I had known more about health issues like heart problems as I lost my first borzoi, Obie, to a sudden death at just 2 years old due to an undiagnosed heart condition. Kitty was health tested at 6 weeks old and is clear of any heart defect.
Did you know?
Their nature as a sighthound, to course and to chase, must be kept in mind. While they can be raised with cats and small dogs that they view as ‘family’, they will always be predisposed to give chase to fast moving furry objects.
