Say Hello to Lola
Boston Terrier, 5 years old
My favourite thing about Lola is...
Lola is very cute, she loves cuddles and snuggles up with us on the sofa at night. She is very affectionate and wants to be with you all the time, she loves coming in the car when I fetch my grandson from school. She tilts her head as she wonders who or what is coming our way as we go for a walk and looks so sweet. Lola loves our cat Poppy and gets into her cradle with her, and licks her ears.
The biggest challenge with Lola is...
Lola is like a dog on a spring, she jumps up and down every time she sees someone. If someone rings the bell at the gate she leaps up, and almost goes over the top of it. We have tried all sorts to stop her jumping up at people but not been successful. Lola is an adventurer, she will search for holes in the fence and will wriggle through to go and explore the other side of the fence.
The most surprising thing about owning a Boston Terrier is...
They are very loving affectionate dogs, they love company and want to be with you all the time. They are very clever and soon work out what they need to do to get their own way. Most people want to say hello while out walking and Lola loves attention. When we went to dog training classes she was first to pick up new skills and was top of the class.
What I wish I’d known about Boston Terriers is...
I wish I had known how energetic they were, and that they jump about all the time. They snore very loudly while trying to listen to the television. They pass extremely pungent smells! They are mischievous and take the stuffing out of all their toys and beds.
Did you know?
The Boston Terrier is also known by the nickname ‘the American Gentleman’ due to their tuxedo like markings.
