Meet Mr. Duk Jones
Bull Terrier, 6 years old
He came from Adopted a Pit Rescue .
My favourite thing about Mr. Duk Jones is...
I love that Duk is so sweet. He loves hugs, kisses and cuddling. I also love that he is very protective of me and small children . He will not allow anyone, not even his own daddy, to get closer than 3 feet of us. It's also so awesome that he howls like a wolf when I leave the house so I can find my way back home.
The biggest challenge with Mr. Duk Jones is...
Duk struggles with some separation anxiety and he is not good with change. He is not too thrilled when I move the furniture around or bring new furniture in the house . I love him madly through all his flaws, it doesn't matter how big or small they are .
The most surprising thing about owning a Bull Terrier is...
Bull Terriers have such a bad rap and Duk is so different from what a lot people assume he is . I was pleasantly surprised to discover exactly how sweet he is . I totally believe that it's how you raise them and that aggression is not just built in them. Duk is a Pitt Bull and Boxer Mix and he is not aggressive at all.
What I wish I’d known about Bull Terriers is...
I wish I would of know that Bull Terriers can be quite afraid of several things like fireworks , being alone and changing their invroments.
Did you know
The Bull Terrier is often thought of as a fighting dog, or a dog originally used for baiting bulls or other animals in a ring or pit. In fact while their ancestors were fighting dogs, the Bull Terrier is a total gentleman and has never been used for these activities – they were bred for success in the show-ring, and as a gentleman’s companion.
