Presenting Cooper
Cairn Terrier, 4 years old
My favourite thing about Cooper is...
His way to show affection without being too affectionate. his defiant looks when I take too long to put my shoes on to go out for a walk. the way he looks at me as if I am crazy when I ask him to do or go somewhere he is really not in the mood and the silent debate we have about it - sometimes I win, sometimes he wins…arriving at work on time is not always that important.
The biggest challenge with Cooper is...
He is a good boy. He strong headed, stubborn and tends to bark (well surprisingly he is a dog). He has a strong character it was important to give him a solid upbringing. Consistent and uniform rules from all elements of the family helped him to find his place. Sometimes you just have to close your heart: It is better to be stricter at start and relax later than having to correct behavior after.
The most surprising thing about owning a Cairn Terrier is...
affectionate but independent. willing to please but in his own terms. clever. courageous but can be fearful of silly things.
What I wish I’d known about Cairn Terriers is...
They are not that difficult as people might say.
