Greetings from Ted
English Springer Spaniel, 11 Weeks old
My favourite thing about Ted is...
He's still at the cuddly stage, but learning so fast and can now jump onto the sofa on his own, and onto the bench seat in the garden. Going to toilet outside with only one accident indoors when I didn't read his body language and let him out quick enough.
The biggest challenge with Ted is...
Biting as he is teething and will latch onto anything whether it's your hands, arms, shoelaces, walking boots, table legs.
The most surprising thing about owning a English Springer Spaniel is...
They are smart dogs and easily trained which is why you see them used for all sorts of search activities.
What I wish I’d known about English Springer Spaniels is...
I have had ESS before and you must realise that they are very active dogs. I use brain games to tire them out, such as hiding treats in the garden and sending them off to "Find".
Did you know?
Although originating from the ‘Land Spaniels’, Springer Spaniels are known for their love of water, and enjoy a good swim or just a splash in a puddle or even their own water bowl.
