Get introduced to Rolo
German Shepherd Dog, 2 years old
My favourite thing about Rolo is...
Rolo is still learning about the world, he is only 18months. What I love most about Rolo is his personality. Nothing fazes this boy. He has a care free, live for the moment attitude. Everything is fun. As long as he’s with his human he’s a happy boy.
The biggest challenge with Rolo is...
The biggest challenge with Rolo at the moment is his attitude. He has reached that teenage stage. He sometimes thinks he knows best and chooses to ignore your commands, not always. Just when the most inappropriate times arise. He picks his moments well!
The most surprising thing about owning a German Shepherd Dog is...
The most surprising thing about the breed is how loyal and obedient they are. They are so easy to train. New skills and commands are so easily picked up.
What I wish I’d known about German Shepherd Dogs is...
How much in that puppy stage they love to chew and bite. Anything they can sink their teeth into l, they will give 100% at giving it a good chew, be that wood, carpet or your toes as you walk past them.

Long before Lassie, the first canine film star was a German Shepherd Dog known as Rin Tin Tin who was rescued as a puppy in 1918 from a World War I battlefield by Lee Duncan, an American soldier. He made 26 films, had his own radio show and even his own private chef!
