Greetings from Duchess
Golden Retriever & Poodle (Toy), 6 years old
She came from Dali Dog Rescue, Cyprus .
My favourite thing about Duchess is...
She looks like a small Golden Retriever with the most enormous brown eyes and I love her underbite with her sticky out teeth. It’s her forever smile! She is also very cuddly. When I tie up my walking boots she always comes to “help”…..either pulling the laces or licking and nibbling my ears!
The biggest challenge with Duchess is...
She loves water and muddy water! She is a mud magnet….so much so, that we had an outdoor, warm shower fitted. She is nervous of most children and will hide behind me or my husband…..so we have to avoid the main school starting and leaving times. We think she was badly treated when she was in Cyprus.
The most surprising thing about owning a Golden Retriever & Poodle (Toy) is...
I had to choose a secondary breed and in the advert I saw for her back in 2017 they said she maybe had poodle in her…but I think it’s more likely a Kokoni she is crossed with, which is not an option in your list of breeds. People usually think she is a full Golden Retriever….even people who own one think she is a pedigree. So I say she is a pretend Golden Retriever!!
What I wish I’d known about Golden Retrievers & Poodles (Toy) is...
All I need to know is that I love her dearly and she loves me. Breed is immaterial.
