Come and say Hi to Goofy
Greyhound, 6 years old
He came from Brighton Retired Greyhounds .
My favourite thing about Goofy is...
Goofy is named Goofy for a very good reason, a name has never suited a dog better, he has very many quirks, my favourite thing is the way he can’t walk through a door the right way, he has to walk back in reverse, even though he has more than enough room and walked through it fine!
The biggest challenge with Goofy is...
Getting him off the sofa - Greyhounds are incredibly lazy doggos and if you have a good enough sofa, that’s where they will live!
The most surprising thing about owning a Greyhound is...
How sensitive and habitual greyhounds are. Goofy is very set and strict with his routine, the slightest change without warning, freaks him out and he just freezes. You have to be very patient and calm with greyhounds as they aren’t good under pressure.
What I wish I’d known about Greyhounds is...
How accident prone they are. Because of their skin they can cut and bruise very easily, where as other dogs dog seem affected by brushing past a branch, Goofy could end up having a large cut which will need to be looked after.
Did you know?
The Greyhound is the fastest dog on earth reaching speeds of over 40mph on short sprints.
