Meet Freddie
Jack Russell Terrier, 14 years old
My favourite thing about Freddie is...
The love he gives me in return and how grateful he is for all I do for him, he has kept me going in what has been the most horrific 2 years of my life. He is a real character; strong and won’t ever be kept down. All he wants is love, food, warmth and comfort with a cocky walk thrown in.
The biggest challenge with Freddie is...
Everyday has been a challenge with Freddie. He will never give in and he tries to be the boss on a daily basis. He is my first dog and I was properly thrown in at the deep end, Jack Russells are a real force of nature. He will be 15 years old soon and has slowed down only recently but still remains very tenacious and robust, he really is the best dog in the world.
The most surprising thing about owning a Jack Russell Terrier is...
The love and loyalty they give you is like no other. You are never alone and feel that together you can handle anything that life has to throw at you. When you go Jack you never go back; they are without question the greatest.
What I wish I’d known about Jack Russell Terriers is...
Everything, they are a whirlwind! They have spirit like no other and you are never truly in control of them they always want to be the boss. Loyal to the extreme, they will stop at nothing to protect you. You are their world as much as they are your world.
Did you know?
All Jack Russell types (KC recognised and not) vary in size, leg length, coat type, and build, but they are always a terrier – feisty, loud, opinionated and quick!
