Say Hello to Fudge
King Charles Spaniel, 11 years old
My favourite thing about Fudge is...
She loves cuddles and is a real lap dog. She’s so pleased when you return home and makes a fuss of you. Fudge used to love chasing after and fetching a ball for you and she’s even done it with stones which we had to put a stop too obviously. She’s got such a lovely temperament.
The biggest challenge with Fudge is...
Unfortunately Fudge is now blind but that doesn’t stop her getting around. She’s so clever. She’s also now diabetic and has to have insulin twice a day plus a heart tablet as she has a heart murmur. She knows she always gets a gravy bone treat after her insulin injection.
The most surprising thing about owning a King Charles Spaniel is...
This breed is very easy to train and gives so much love in return. I’ve owned various breeds but a King Charles spaniel is definitely the best.
What I wish I’d known about King Charles Spaniels is...
This breed can have a few underlying health conditions, a heart murmur being one of them but it certainly doesn’t impede her quality of life.
Did you know?
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has had many celebrity owners - and one even lived in the White House. Rex belonged to Ronald and Nancy Reagan so was probably officially the First Dog!
