Let us introduce Boe-Boe Baggins Hound
Lurcher, 4 years old
He came from Birmingham Dogs Home .
My favourite thing about Boe-Boe Baggins Hound is...
He is super affectionate. We taught him to touch on command and he now uses the 'Boop Snoop' to demand attention. He loves a good run in the local dog park daily. Lurchers are not easy for first time dog owners; they are faster and larger then the Greyhound. Once a routine is put in place life does get a little easier. They love food too and can be trained with treats.
The biggest challenge with Boe-Boe Baggins Hound is...
Training is hard going; they don't listen and are very stubborn, plus faster and larger then the Greyhound. The recall was the hardest bit but we worked hard at it. Also will steal food if unsupervised!
The most surprising thing about owning a Lurcher is...
very Affectionate and like to be a couch potato. Likes snuggling lots.
What I wish I’d known about Lurchers is...
How hard the recall training was, but we persevered and have a 95% strong recall now; it's the 5% when he's in a mood or sees another dog and he thinks he should party!
Did you know?
It is very important therefore that you know the breeding, not just of your planned puppy’s parents but their grandparents too. Do not get a Lurcher if you do not like the inherent nature of one of the parent/grandparent breeds!
