Say Hi to Tilly
Staffordshire Bull Terrier, 12 years old
She came from Happy Dogs Rescue, Hampshire .
My favourite thing about Tilly is...
Tilly is one of the most tactile, affectionate & vocal dogs I have ever met. She's very gentle & so good with our grandchildren. She loves seeing the children & sits looking for them when we say they are coming round. Tilly loves her cuddles & is a great help to me as I have chronic illnesses. She is like my shadow & follows me everywhere. So worthwhile adopting a dog, they are so happy.
The biggest challenge with Tilly is...
As Tilly has become elderly she has developed seperation anxiety to the extent that we can't leave her alone. It's not a problem for us at all though as we work round it.
The most surprising thing about owning a Staffordshire Bull Terrier is...
The most surprising thing is that they get such bad press. These dogs are the most loving & loyal of all breeds & the press they receive is totally unfair. As we have always said...There are two ends to a lead!
What I wish I’d known about Staffordshire Bull Terriers is...
What wonderful family dogs they are.
Did you know?
Developed originally by James Hinks of Birmingham, this breed was appearing at dog shows as early as 1862. But it wasn’t until the 1930s when it was recognised as being a separate breed from the Bull Terrier and had a name change to distinguish the two, adding the county name where it had become so popular.
