Get to know Apollo
Staffordshire Bull Terrier & German Short-Haired Pointer, 6 years old
He came from Underdog International .
My favourite thing about Apollo is...
Despite not having the best start in life and being in a rescue centre for 3 years, Apollo has the biggest heart. He is so loving and trusting of his human family, gives the best hugs and is always so excited to see us walk into a room. Every evening, he loves to curl up next to us and makes a heavy breathing sound to tell us he's happy and content.
The biggest challenge with Apollo is...
Getting over his fear of loud bangs. Whatever has happened in his early life has made him scared of loud noises - not ideal when you live near the countryside during hunting season... but we give him the space he needs and let him know that he is always safe with us.
The most surprising thing about owning a Staffordshire Bull Terrier & German Short-Haired Pointer is...
They are big goofballs! Apollo doesn't understand his size, so tries to be a lap dog, or knock things over either his big waggy tail.
What I wish I’d known about Staffordshire Bull Terriers & German Short-Haired Pointers is...
They are very strong and capable. Be prepared to be pulled on lead walks if they catch scent of a rabbit or fox. They have so much energy and love to be out and about exploring and sniffing for new scents.
