Say Hello to Kazaju Ziggy Rascal
Tibetan Terrier, 11 Months old
My favourite thing about Kazaju Ziggy Rascal is...
He loves to be involved in all I do. He is very playful and adores the grandchildren. He understands the pattern of our week, getting excited at weekends and on my day off. He is gentle and hasn’t shown any signs of aggression or dominance.
The biggest challenge with Kazaju Ziggy Rascal is...
He does bark but is learning to control this. It has been particularly noticeable in the car but since he started lying on the parcel shelf it is much less of a problem.
The most surprising thing about owning a Tibetan Terrier is...
How much he likes to climb! His favourite perch is on the garage roof so he can keep an eye on the garden. He appeared beside me on a fallen tree and stands on his hind legs to get a better view of something interesting is happening.
What I wish I’d known about Tibetan Terriers is...
How much hair they have! The coat is very thick. We allowed it to grow long until he met a burr bush and got covered in burrs. It took hours to unpick them all and his legs and tail were velcroed to his body. Since then we have kept his coat short.
Did you know?
While there are very few dogs left in Tibet, in remote areas it is still possible to see Tibetan Terriers working sheep exactly as they have done for centuries.
