So I wanted to try the Pro Plan Optilight Dry Cat Food for a couple of reasons-my cat is slightly overweight and his hair is shedding all over the place. He is a massive fan of everything containing fish. The dry food we have the chance to try is Turkey and Rice. I am not sure if this is the reason but he is eating less. We started feeding him with Purina Pro Plan on the 19th of July as we've been abroad at the time of the actual delivery. The bag is 3 kg and the kibbles are on the small side, easy to eat and not too stinky which is a plus in the hot weather. I haven't noticed the chance of the hair shedding yet but I am an optimist and I'd give it some more time. I am scoring the product 4 stars just because he hasn't been long enough on it so I can see all benefits. Though he is not eating as much as when we buy his usual favourite brand he is not as greedy as he used to be so I count this as a great plus. I will probably keep buying Purina Pro Plan in future and to be honest, can't wait until the next vet appointment to see how much weight he has lost. We are constantly reminded he needs to be on a diet.
My fussy puss loved this, usually I have to have several bags on the go, switching around to regain his interest, but with this he just kept coming back for more. In the current heat wave it's been a godsend as there's no flies on this dish compared to wet foods.
Definitely will be coming back for more and adding to our shopping basket in future.
My baby loved it so much that he only prefers to eat Purina Pro Plan. He is quite picky with food but we almost run out of it so I am definitely going to be ordering some more and we did notice that he is more active around the house and his coat seems to be more shinier with less shedding!
If he is happy then I am happy, so will definitely recommend this to every cat mamas and papas out there.
My cat really liked the kibbles, although her favorite food is wet food. I am disappointed to find there is a lot of wheat in the product. For a premium brand you would expect a higher meat content and no wheat. My cat has sensitivities, so it's better for her not to have gluten.
I fed a stray cat the rest of the bag, he absolutely loved it. He doesn't like wet food, strangely enough. (The first cat in my life I met, who doesn't like wet food.) So, these kibbles were very welcome by him,
