PRO PLAN® Sterilised Maintenance with Chicken in Gravy Wet Cat Food

My cat loves !!! Loves this food. She’s got a sensitive stomach now she’s gotten older and this food suits her. Shame it doesn’t come in bigger boxes. A box last her a few days so I end up having to buy a few at a time and hoard them!

I really loved the idea of this food plan, helping my cat get all the nutrients he needs in his diet. Unfortunately, my cat hasn’t been a big fan of the wet food. I introduced it slowly, but he isn’t really eating this food with as much fervour as his other food. He’s not that picky but for some reason he isn’t loving this food, often not eating it or leaving some in the bowl. He usually loves food with gravy but this one does not seem to be his favourite. I would still recommend it as I think it’s a great idea, but would maybe avoid it or buy a trial size first if your cat is a picky eater - as of course every cat is different! My personal opinion is that it doesn’t have too strong a smell like other cat food does, which is a positive. However, it’s really hard to get the food out of the packet! It doesn’t all come out, and you have to work really hard to get everything out of the pouch, leaving you with gravy all over your fingers. I would look past this as I think the idea of specialised food is great, but as my cat isn’t really enjoying it I think it’s really a shame. This is just my personal experience, but I would recommend people try it because it’s really good in theory.

It looks like our Hatchi absolutely loves this range for sterilised cats, which is great as it help maintain a healthy body weight, also specially formulated to help maintain urinary health in neutered cats and help support healthy natural defences. Another benefit of the range is the chunks are quite small so it was easy for our cat to chew it.

I started testing Purina Pro Plan from giving my cats the thing they love the most - pouches. Usually I give wet food to them only on weekends. More as treat. My older cat is a bit fussy when it comes to pouches - once he didn't eat his wet food for 2 days (I gave up). Most of the brands that I used before have more liquid in the sachet. It was nice to see that Purina Pro Plan wet food has more solid food so it slowed down my cats eating speed. If eating slowly is advised for people, then it must be good for our cats as well, right? :) The pouches must be very filling - after feeding them I don't have cats wandering around me while preparing food in the kitchen. Peace and quiet - definitely recommend!
