I will write this testimony the best I can. For what I can tell and see Meeka highly approved the new Purina Pro Plan dog biscuits she couldn't wait for her food to be placed down and the fact that she didn't pick at them and only eat a few like she always does with other dry food we have given her says something. I think it to early to tell or see if it is having a positive effect on her stomach or coat but I am sure as it's a high quality food it will have some positive results.
My dog was very excited as soon as I received this dog food and literally got into the packing box as I was trying to unpack the product after it was delivered. He was very clearly keen to try the food and kept sniffing the bag and looking at me hopefully wanting to taste it immediately! I mixed the product with the regular kibble to gradually introduce the new food. I noticed that the food was eaten with gusto and extreme interest every time it was fed to him and that his fur is becoming softer and silkier. He can be quite sensitive when I change food products but has eaten the Pro Plan without any issues. As the food is turkey based it is clearly easy to digest and the addition of the prebiotics to improve gut microflora and bentonite which contributes to good stool quality made it an even better choice of food for my dog’s health. The kibble is small enough for my dog to eat easily and is not too dry as the addition of the fish oils in the ingredients help make the kibble slightly moister. The relatively high meat content makes it a good product to help my dog feel satiated after eating too which is helpful.
My dog has always been quite fussy with food and tended to prefer very expensive human grade wet food and has always rejected any type of kibble or we haven’t been happy with his coat and stools when we found one that he would eat.
I was dubious that this would be any different and eases him in gently by trying a few nuggets as rewards and he loved them. I then moved on to putting a few in with his wet food and he enjoyed his meal a lot more than usual. I think he likes the added crunch.
As we have increased the amount of kibble in his food he is loving his meals. We had a few loser stools during the transition, but all in all he seems well and his coat hasn’t become dull…which we have seen in the past, in fact I would say it feels more silky.
We will definitely be purchasing this in the future and mixing it with his wet food for the best of both worlds.
Having tried what seems like a lot of dog food brands and flavours this one seems to have been the one that has agreed with my dog the most. Not only does it agree with his tummy, he's been less itchy too. Being a Cocker he loves all food, this one is no exception to the rule. I like that a little goes a long way and the food itself isn't too smelly.
I would definitely recommend this food if you're dog has a sensitive tummy.
