Recommended daily amount (pouch/day)
For an average cat of 4 kg and 7-11 years old, feed up to 3 pouches per day and for a cat >11 years old, feed up to 3½ pouches per day in at least 2 separate meals. The senior maintenance averages are based on moderately active cats. Individual needs vary and feeding should be adjusted as required to maintain your cat at a lean, healthy body weight.
Serve at room temperature. Clean, fresh drinking water should always be available.
Well, I first gave Lulu this cat food last week and she sniffed at it before trying it. She's very fussy about food in her old age so when it comes to wet cat food, I can only give her half a pouch at a time. I gave her half of pouch of the Purina pro plan nutrisavour sterilized senior cat food and she ate most of it at once and walked off. She came back later to finish it off. Each day she is eating more and more which is a good sign. The thing that I don't like about this cat food is that is it quite messy and if my cat leaves it for ages and ages, it is quite an effort to get the bowl cleaned. Lulu tends to prefer dry food but she's not meant to have too much as it gives her urinary problems.
I will keep trying this food to see if she can eventually finish off a whole pouch in one day.
So, I have given nearly a whole pouch to Lulu this evening and she ate all of it. and I have just given her the rest and she's eating it which is a good sign. She seems to like it much better now that she's had it a few times. I still think it is quite messy though and it is a struggle to shake the remnants out of the pouch so quite a bit of it goes to waste. it would be good if it could slide out a bit more easier.
I haven't noticed much of smell which is also good because smelly cat food is off-putting. I have gone back and checked and Lulu has eaten the rest of it so she's had a full pouch today. If it wasn't for the sloppiness of the product, I would have given it 5 stars.
Well, tonight Lulu ate around half a pouch. She didn't eat it all straight away but instead when I put it in her bowl, she sniffed at it and walked off to beg for a treat from the treat cabinet. She came back to her catfood around half an hour later. She ate most of it but left a tiny bit. Some days she has eaten it straight away and others she's just walked off and left it only to come back to it later. Not sure whether it is just an age thing as she often goes off her food some days. She does seem to like it and as she hasn't many teeth left it is east for her to lick it up. I will continue to give her cat food until she finishes them. She's such a finicky eater nowadays. Poor little mite.
